After 5 years of the successful growth of Vision Primary School and Vision Secondary School, there was a need for expansion. In 2013, approval was obtained from the Ministry of Education to operate Vision International School (VIS). Datuk Mary Yap Kain Ching, Mr Chris Chiew and Mdm Chew Lee Ping were the few key people involved in this process. VIS was established in 2014 under the implementation of a 5-year plan. The school offers Cambridge syllabus - the International General Certificate of Secondary Education (IGCSE).
With the enrollment of interior students from Lahad Datu, Semporna, Sandakan and even international students from Indonesia in VIS there was a need for their accommodation, hence in 2010, five homes in Bandar Sri Indah were used as student hostels.
In September 2014, Ms Jenny Helena Sieh, accepted the challenge to be the associate principal of VIS, and Dr Lawrence Williams Sr as the consultant principal. By God’s blessings, on 27 September 2014, Vision International School was officially launched, and was officiated by Datuk Mary Yap Kain Ching, the Deputy Minister of Education. In 2015, VIS started receiving their first batch of students. In 2019, 5 years in operation, Ms Jenny Helena Sieh was officially appointed as the Principal of Vision International School.
In 2018, Our newly constructed Vision Dormitory became the latest addition to the school. The new dormitory, (with a full capacity of 150 students), supervised by wardens, provides accommodation especially to students staying in the outskirts of Tawau. Students who stay in the dorm are safely protected in this peaceful and conducive environment for learning.
Vision International School has consistently delivered outstanding Cambridge IGCSE results. From 2015–2024, our students achieved an impressive track record with multiple years at 100% pass rate (2015, 2018, 2019). Even in challenging global circumstances, our pass rate remained strong, averaging above 90% across the decade. With a 95% pass rate in both 2023 and 2024, VIS continues to uphold its reputation for academic excellence and student success.
Fast forward through the years, over 60 students from India, Indonesia, and Korea alongside our local students have graduated from VIS. Last year, 2024, the School celebrated its 10th Anniversary. God has been good through this journey.
